The Hoek -
offers classic Cape Town Barrels on a South Easter. Tucked under Chapmans Peak
and close to our favourite local pub – The Red Herring!
Dunes – that world class A – frame you see on our site also digs the Sou Easter.
Kakapo – find an old rusted hunk of junk – part of the dunes and same conditions.
Sunset – A reef break about ½ a click out to sea. Got a buddy
on a jet, then its your wave.
Longbeach – lefts, rights, beach
breaks, babes, grommets but oh so much fun in a light S Easter and medium swell.
Boneyards – dunno, never surfed it, sounds to radical for a cuck
surfer like me.
Inner Kom – long fuck-off left.
Outer
Kom – even longer fuck-off left (or right if you have the balls). This break
is a real local spot, so respect is always a very good idea here. Great view of
Hout Bay from here.
The Boiler – another kelpy left which can
have you on the rocks in no time but that’s ok as the Kommetjie light house keeper
collects broken boards for a hobby.
365 – paddle out through the
kelp and this ‘mostly’ right - hander works pretty near most days as the name
suggests.
CRAYFISH FACTORY – you’ve noticed the capitals, well
be mindful of them as this cooking right will swallow you up, spit you out, hold
you down and generally do everything in its power to kick your ass, it’s a bad
ass - get it right and your blood will boil with the pure adrenalin of it!!
Witsands – lefts, rights, barrels its all available here but watch the
rip. Kite Surfers dig it and the wind surfers are fun to watch.
Misty
Ciffs – rocky little beach with some fun lefts and rights in the correct conditions.
Scarborough – The banks have been working for months. Let the rip next
to the rocks take you out, duck off and pull into a deep right.
Scarborough
Point – a left - hander that seldom works any longer but when it does – be
there.
There are a bunch more spots in the Cape Point Nature Reserve
- go find them if you can!
