Cape Town is a great place to learn to surf. Muizenberg is the ideal place to
first get your feet wet, build up your confidence and learn to stand up and finally
go sideways. The water is warm (it’s the Indian ocean), the waves are small and
gentle, heaps of parking and a bunch of surf schools to choose from. It is also
on the main train line that runs between Cape Town city and Simonstown.
The East Coast of Southern Africa is a surfers paradise. Most places like Mossel
Bay, Plettenberg Bay, Jeffery’s Bay, East London, The Wild Coast, Durban, Sodwana
Bay or even as far up as Mozambique all have surf schools or camps. We have included
a few of these for your convenience.
